Si contenderà il titolo questa sera sul palco del Pala Olimpico, Nadir Rustamli, che rappresenterà l’Azerbaigian all’Eurovision Song Contest 2022 con la sua ballad “Fade to black”.
In attesa di scoprire cosa succederà durante la finale di questa sera, sabato 14 maggio, che seguiremo in diretta facebook sul nostro canale live dalle 20.40, Matolas ha intervistato Nadir Rustamli in gara con il brano “Fade to black”.
Ecco quello che ha raccontato Nadir Rustamli durante l’intervista (dopo il video la versione in inglese):
“Diamo il benvenuto a Nadir Rustamli che rappresenterà l’Azerbaigian per l’Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Che cosa ti aspetti da questa esperienza?”
Penso che sarà uno show fantastico in ogni caso. Sarà sicuramente molto bello e spero che vi possa piacere e possiate amare la mia performance sul palco del Pala Olimpico.
“Cosa ci puoi raccontare della tua canzone “Fade to black”? Come l’hai scelta per partecipare all’Eurovision Song Contest?”
Abbiamo ricevuto più di 300 canzoni quest’anno e la mia è stata scelta in una cerchia ristretta. Ho registrato quattro canzoni e mentre le registravo mi sono innamorato di due canzoni, ma “Fade to black” aveva qualcosa di speciale per me come se gli autori avessero visto come sono e sono così felice che sia stata scelta. Questa canzone mi appartiene tanto e mi rappresenta appieno.
“Sei stato il vincitore di The Voice of Azerbaijan nel 2021. Ti aspettavi di vincere questa seconda edizione? Come è andata?”
Quando sono stato scelto per The Voice of Azerbaigian all’inizio pensavo che fosse tutto tranquillo ‘ma sì, ce la posso fare’ ma quando ho conosciuto gli altri partecipanti, pieni di talento, che settimana dopo settimana cresceva mi sono detto ‘ok, Nadir… già arrivare in finale sarebbe un ottimo traguardo’. Il format dello shor prevede poi che il vincitore sia scelto dal pubblico che vota da casa e non dalla giuria; quindi ho chiesto di sentire per bene il brano e se avesse trasmesso loro qualche emozione mentre lo ascoltavano, allora avrebbero potuto votare per me. E così è stato!
“Sei mai stato in Italia? Conosci qualche artista italiano con cui ti piacerebbe fare un duetto?”
No, è la mia prima volta qui in Italia ma conosco benissimo Toto Cotugno! Mi piace tanto e fare volentieri un duetto con lui. E’ molto famoso da noi in Azerbaijan e le sue canzoni sono suonate sempre ed ovunque, soprattutto durante le feste!
“Oltre al tuo brano, qual è quello che ti piace di più nella gara? C’è qualcuno che temi di più?”
Credo che chiunque sia un degno rivale in questa sfida. Abbiamo visto solo alcune parti delle performance e non sai bene quindi chi realmente shockerà e farà lo show durante i suoi tre minuti.
“Stiamo tutti vivendo momenti terribili con questa incredibile guerra. Cosa vuoi dire a riguardo? Può la musica salvare ed unire il mondo?”
Nessuno al mondo dovrebbe vivere tutto questo, questa violenza e questa paura continua. Nessuno merita di decidere chi possa vivere o meno. Spero che finisca presto tutto. Se c’è qualcosa che ci può unire, questa è la musica. Siamo qui e l’Eurovision è la prova vivente di tutto questo: veniamo tutti da diversi paesi per la musica. E anche i paesi che non partecipano alla gara come l’America del Sud o la stessa America o l’Asia, ascoltano l’Eurovision; non solo l’Europa!
“Ed ora è il tuo momento per l’APPELLO A FARTI VOTARE: puoi dire quello che vuoi per ricevere voti da tutta Europa!”
Voglio solo dire che vi amo tutti ragazzi, e spero che possiate amare la mia performance e la mia messa in scena; ed ovviamente votate per me!!!
“Please welcome Nadir Rustamli who represents Azerbaijan for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. What do you expect from your participation?”
I think we will be just a fantastic show. It will be great and I hope you will enjoy and love my performance.
“Would you like to talk about your song “Fade to black”? How did you choose it for the Eurovision?”
We received more that 300 songs this year. My song was chosen for the short list. I recorded 4 of the songs and while recording them I loved 2 of them but this was so special and I feel like they saw that too about this song and I am so happy it was chosen. This song is about me and it is so me.
“You were the winner of The Voice of Azerbaijan in 2021. Did you expect to win the second season of the show? How was it?”
When I joined The Voice of Azerbaijan at the very beginning I was like “yeah I can do that” but then when I met the contestants full of talent and then every week it grew more and more I was like “ok nadir, try to make it to the finals and it would be a great achievement”. The format of the show is that the winner is chosen from the people at home that vote you. Not jury. I asked people to really listen to the song and feel it and if they were moved and felt something while listening to the song, then vote for me! And they did!
“Have you ever been in Italy before? Do you know some Italian artists whom would you like to do a duet with?”
No, first time. I know Toto Cotugno! I love him it is very famous. His songs are played everywhere in Azerbajan, especially in the parties.
“A part for your song, which one in the competition do you like the most? And who are you scared of?”
I think that everyone is my rival. We only see some part of their performance and you never know who is gonna shock and rock us during the live performance so anyone could be a rival.
“We’re all living bad times with this incredible war. What would you like to say about it? Could music save and unite the world?”
No creature in the world does not deserve to feel like that, this violence, fear, no one deserves that no living thing! I hope it will be over soon. If anything could unite us is music. We are here and Eurovision is the living proof of that. We are all here from different country for music. Other continents join in by listening to Eurovision: the whole world is united by Eurovision not just Europe.
“And now it’s your time to CALL TO VOTES! Say what you want in order to receive votes from all over Europe!”
I just wanna say that I love you guys so much and I hope you are gonna love my performance and my staging and vote for me!!!!
